Abstract

This study aims to analyze pastoral counseling for women experiencing Domestic Violence in Betel Pada Congregation and examine the contribution of feminist theology and Christian Education to church ministry. This qualitative study employed a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving DV survivors, church ministers, and a traditional community leader. The findings show that the church provides counseling, spiritual encouragement, advice, and prayer, but its implementation remains limited due to communication barriers, inadequate follow-up, and survivors’ fear of speaking openly. The study also finds that local wisdom, including salah bicara, salah tangan, salah tingkah laku, and Mompebouloi, forms part of the community’s approach to resolving family problems. Feminist theology emphasizes equality and partnership, while Christian Education contributes to shaping a congregational understanding that affirms human dignity and rejects violence. Pastoral counseling and Christian Education therefore need to be developed integratively to support the prevention, accompaniment, and recovery of women experiencing Domestic Violence.
